Manufacturing and installation of a 20 MW electrostatic precipitator at Fiskarheden

As part of the Fiskarheden 20 MW biomass-fired boiler house project, we manufactured and installed an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) for flue gas cleaning. The solution is designed to ensure efficient removal of particulate matter from the flue gases while also enabling more effective use of residual heat, improving the overall environmental performance and operational reliability of the boiler plant.

For the project, the electrostatic precipitator was manufactured at the factory as a modular solution and finally assembled and installed on site. The ESP was installed outside the boiler house and integrated into the existing flue gas system, including the required flue gas ducts and connections.

The installed solution complies with the requirements arising from European Union climate directives and meets the emission limit values set by the Medium Combustion Plant Directive (MCPD 2015/2193). These requirements aim to reduce emissions of particulate matter and other pollutants across EU member states. The project supports the boiler house’s long-term, environmentally compliant, and efficient operation.
