Reconstruction of the Saverna Boiler House
Description
The client’s design brief was the reconstruction of the boiler house in the Saverna village district heating area into a modern automatic biofuel boiler house. The existing boiler house was worn out, and for the new biofuel boiler house a new steel-frame building was constructed in place of the existing boiler house building.
In principle, the boiler house is divided into two parts – the boiler room and the fuel storage with the hydraulic room. Within the scope of this project, a new biofuel boiler unit Kalvis 720M-1 with a nominal capacity of 0.72 MW was installed in the boiler house. An oil-fired boiler is used as a reserve boiler, and the type of biofuel used is wood chips of class P63, M50.
The heat pipeline of the designed biofuel boiler house was connected to the Saverna district heating network pipeline. The objective was to design an automatic biofuel boiler house operating without continuous human presence (unmanned).
