Aseri Biofuel Boiler House with a Capacity of 1.5 MW

A hot water boiler with a grate furnace designed for biofuel was installed in the boiler house. The nominal capacity of the boiler is 1.5 MW at 55% fuel moisture. The maximum operating pressure of the hot water boiler is Ps = 6 bar and the maximum permissible operating temperature is Ts = 110 °C.

The boiler house is designed to operate fully automatically, including control and adjustment of fuel combustion modes in response to changes in both load and fuel quality. Remote monitoring of the technology was connected to the Adven Eesti AS control center.

Fuel reception into the fuel storage takes place directly from the fuel truck by means of a screw conveyor. The fuel storage is designed to hold approximately 250 loose m³ of fuel, which corresponds to about 4 days of supply at maximum heat load.
In the event of a power outage, an emergency generator is installed in the boiler house to ensure safe shutdown of the boiler house.

Technical specification of the boiler house:

1. Air cooling of the grate frame.

2. Boiler grates with a minimum chromium content of 26%.

3. The boiler is equipped with primary and secondary/recirculation fans.

4. Boiler efficiency of at least 86% when firing wood chips and sod peat with 50% moisture content.

5. Maximum operating pressure Ps = 6 bar and maximum permissible operating temperature Ts = 110 °C.

6. Minimum inlet temperature to the boiler is 80 °C.

7. Fuel level monitoring and control logic on the furnace grates equipped with IR level sensors.
