Description

On the property stood a silicate-brick boiler house, which was largely demolished and replaced with a new steel-frame boiler plant. The reconstructed boiler house consisted of two volumes: a smaller section housing the boiler room and a larger section serving as the biofuel storage.

Two biomass boilers with capacities of Nbio = 850 kW and Nbio2 = 600 kW and one oil-fired boiler (kept as reserve) were installed in the boiler room. Biofuel is unloaded from the vehicle into a receiving pit, from where it is transported by screw conveyors to the storage, and from there further via rakes to the feed auger, which delivers the fuel into the boiler. Ash removal is automatic, and the ash is collected in containers located next to the boiler plant. Pre-insulated stainless-steel modular chimneys with a height of 18 m were installed for the boilers.

Smoke extraction from the boiler room is ensured by two non-closable ventilation grilles installed in the upper third of the wall. The size of each grille is 1000 × 1000 mm, and the calculated required opening area for smoke extraction is 1.51 m² (1% of the floor area). Fresh air required for combustion is supplied through the same grille. In addition, the boiler room has a mechanical exhaust fan intended primarily for maintaining a normal indoor temperature.

Smoke extraction from the biofuel storage and hydraulic room is also ensured by non-closable ventilation grilles. The calculated required opening area is 2.81 m² (2% of the storage floor area). This is achieved using two ventilation grilles sized 2000 × 1000 mm and 2000 × 500 mm, installed in the upper third of the end wall. The storage room is additionally equipped with a mechanical exhaust fan intended primarily for removing moisture released from the biofuel.
